Just in time for your favorite weekend libation comes Cavallaro's "Cocktails" from 1957. A nice record that makes us feel like we're nursing a Rusty Nail in a swanky hotel piano bar. Here, Cavallaro's mood is a bit sleepier, more bluesy - as if he too is pulling at an Old Fashioned from atop his piano. Some notable tunes here are his versions of the Sinatra standards, Witchcraft and All The Way.

Carmen Cavallaro, all around good guy and powerful pianist, made the older gals swoon half a century ago. Starting out as a big band leader working the dance halls, he moved to a smaller combo lineup in the mid 50s playing supper clubs from NYC to Dallas. This record has been shared elsewhere (Mr. Xtabay for one) but the links have long since expired, and this is our vinyl rip - not Mr. X's. Also, we should note that yes, this enjoyed a limited cd release in Japan (needle drop versions, just like ours!) but are sadly gone and no longer in print.
